CompTIA Security+ Certification

Certifications are a topic that have come up a few times in previous courses and our current book has an appendix on obtaining the CompTIA Security+ certification.  I am choosing to highlight the certification this week.  CompTIA's Security+ certification has been one of the most important ones for my career.  The certification covers many of the daily IT security task that I have had to take care of over the years.  It was a requirement for the majority of the positions that I have held also.  Sec+ is the basic requirement to qualify for administrator accounts when working for most government entities.  You can see that our book covers the required topics to be successful for the exam.  They can be stressful to take, but good study habits will go a long way in making them less stressful.  Certifications are a value add to your career.  Below is the list from my CompTIA profile.  It shows the individual certifications I hold from CompTIA but does not show the stackable CompTIA Security Analytics Professional certification the individual certs equal when combined.  Certs will help you rise above other applicants when looking for positions.  I highly recommend taking the time to study and maintain them.  If you have any questions about taking the exams or the benefits, feel free to reach out to me.
